ইয়েমেনের সশস্ত্র হুতি বিদ্রোহীরা স্থানীয়ভাবে তৈরি ভূমি থেকে আকাশে নিক্ষেপযোগ্য ক্ষেপণাস্ত্র ব্যবহার করে সৌদি আরবের একটি এফ-১৫ (F-15) যুদ্ধবিমান ভূপাতিত করার দাবি করেছে। আজ ১৬ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৬ বুধবার হুতি সামরিক বাহিনীর মুখপাত্র ইয়াহিয়া সারি এক বিবৃতিতে এই দাবি জানান।

• হুতিদের দাবি: যুদ্ধবিমানটি ইয়েমেনের বিরুদ্ধে "শত্রুতামূলক অভিযান" পরিচালনা করছিল। সেই সময় হুতিদের প্রতিরক্ষা বাহিনী তাদের নিজেদের তৈরি ক্ষেপণাস্ত্র দিয়ে সেটিকে আঘাত করে।

সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে সৌদি নেতৃত্বাধীন জোট ও হুতিদের মধ্যে পাল্টাপাল্টি হামলা ব্যাপক বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। হুতিদের ক্ষেপণাস্ত্র ও ড্রোন হামলায় সৌদি আরবের খামিস মুশাইত, আবহা ও তায়েফে বেশ কয়েকজন বেসামরিক নাগরিক আহত হওয়ার পর সৌদি জোটও ইয়েমেনের বিভিন্ন স্থানে ব্যাপক বিমান হামলা চালায়। হুতিদের দাবি অনুযায়ী, সৌদি আরব তাদের ওপর কয়েক দিনে শত শত বিমান হামলা চালানোর প্রতিক্রিয়া হিসেবেই তারা এই পাল্টা পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে।

Yemen’s armed Houthi rebels have claimed to have shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet using a locally developed surface-to-air missile. On 16 September 2026, Wednesday, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree made the claim in a statement.

• Location of the incident: The airspace over Yemen’s Ma’rib Governorate.

• Houthi claim: The fighter jet was conducting a “hostile operation” against Yemen. At that time, Houthi defense forces reportedly struck the aircraft with a missile developed by their own forces.

• What happened afterward: Yahya Saree further stated that Houthi forces intercepted and drove away another Saudi F-15 and a Typhoon fighter jet that had arrived to search for the wreckage of the downed aircraft.

Background and Rising Tensions

In recent times, retaliatory attacks between the Saudi-led coalition and the Houthis have increased significantly.
