গ্যাসের ধরণ ও গঠন

LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas): প্রোপেন (C₃H₈) ও বিউটেন (C₄H₁₀)-এর মিশ্রণ। মাঝারি চাপ বা ঠাণ্ডায় এটি তরলে পরিণত হয়।

CNG (Compressed Natural Gas): মূলত মিথেন (CH₄)। প্রায় ২০০–২৫০ বার চাপে গ্যাসীয় অবস্থায় সিলিন্ডারে সংরক্ষণ করা হয়।

LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas): মূলত মিথেনের তরল রূপ। প্রায় -১৬০° থেকে -১৬২° সেলসিয়াস তাপমাত্রায় ঠাণ্ডা করে এটি তরলে পরিণত করা হয়।

উৎস

LPG: খনিজ তেল শোধনাগার ও প্রাকৃতিক গ্যাস প্রক্রিয়াজাতকরণে উপজাত হিসেবে পাওয়া যায়।

CNG ও LNG: ভূগর্ভস্থ প্রাকৃতিক গ্যাস থেকে পাওয়া যায়। LNG-কে পরে অতিরিক্ত ঠাণ্ডা করে তরলে রূপান্তর করা হয়।

ব্যবহার

LPG: বাসাবাড়ির রান্না, হিটিং, হোটেল-রেস্তোরাঁ, শিল্পকারখানা ও অটোগ্যাসে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

CNG: প্রাইভেটকার, বাস ও অটোরিকশাসহ বিভিন্ন যানবাহনের জ্বালানি হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

LNG: সমুদ্রপথে বিপুল পরিমাণ প্রাকৃতিক গ্যাস পরিবহন এবং পরে বিদ্যুৎকেন্দ্র ও ভারী শিল্পে সরবরাহের জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Types and Composition

LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas): A mixture of propane (C₃H₈) and butane (C₄H₁₀). It becomes liquid under moderate pressure or at low temperatures.

CNG (Compressed Natural Gas): Mainly methane (CH₄), stored as a gas in cylinders at approximately 200–250 bar pressure.

LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas): Mainly methane in liquid form. Natural gas is cooled to around -160°C to -162°C to convert it into a liquid.

Sources

LPG: Obtained as a byproduct of crude oil refining and natural gas processing.

CNG & LNG: Both originate from underground natural gas. LNG is further cooled to extremely low temperatures to convert it into liquid form.

Uses

LPG: Widely used for cooking, heating, restaurants, industries, and as vehicle fuel (Autogas).

CNG: Mainly used as fuel for vehicles such as private cars, buses, and auto-rickshaws.

LNG: Used to transport large quantities of natural gas by sea and later supply it to power plants and heavy industries after converting it back into gas.
