মারিয়ানা ট্রেঞ্চ বা মারিয়ানা খাত :পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে  গভীরতম স্থান

পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে গভীরতম স্থান হলো প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরে অবস্থিত মারিয়ানা ট্রেঞ্চ  বা মারিয়ানা খাত। এই খাতের মধ্যে থাকা চ্যালেঞ্জার ডিপ (Challenger Deep) বিন্দুটিই বিশ্বের গভীরতম স্থান হিসেবে পরিচিত । 

মারিয়ানা ট্রেঞ্চের সম্পর্কে কিছু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তথ্য:

• গভীরতা: চ্যালেঞ্জার ডিপের গভীরতা সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠ থেকে প্রায় ১০,৯৩৫ মিটার (৩৬,০৩৭ ফুট) বা প্রায় ১১ কিলোমিটার।

• অবস্থান: এটি পশ্চিম প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরে ফিলিপাইনের পূর্বে এবং গুয়াম দ্বীপের দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিমে অবস্থিত ।

• তুলনা: এই স্থানটি এতই গভীর যে, বিশ্বের সর্বোচ্চ পর্বতশৃঙ্গ মাউন্ট এভারেস্টকে এর ভেতরে রাখলে তার চূড়া সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠ থেকে আরও প্রায় ২ কিলোমিটার নিচে থাকবে ।

• চাপ: এই গভীরতায় পানির চাপ সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠের চাপের তুলনায় প্রায় ১,০০০ গুণেরও বেশি ।

মারিয়ানা ট্রেঞ্চে দেখা যাওয়া কিছু প্রাণী যারা চরম চাপ ও অন্ধকারেও টিকে থাকতে পারে:

• মারিয়ানা স্নেইলফিশ: সবচেয়ে গভীরতম মাছ, স্বচ্ছ ত্বক ও কার্টিলেজযুক্ত কঙ্কাল থাকে।

• অ্যাম্ফিপড: ছোট, চিংড়ির মতো কাঁকড়াজাতীয় প্রাণী, যা নিচের আবর্জনা খেয়ে বেঁচে থাকে।

• সি কিউকাম্বার (সামুদ্রিক শসা): তলদেশে পাওয়া যায় এবং এরাও আবর্জনা খেয়ে বেঁচে থাকে।

• পলিকেট ওয়ার্মস: বিভিন্ন ধরনের কৃমি এখানে বাস করে।

• জেনোফাইওফোরস: বড় আকারের এককোষী জীব যা তরকারি বা সবজির মতো দেখতে।

• কাস্ক-ইল (Cusk-eels): ইল (eel) এর মতো দেখতে এই মাছও এখানে পাওয়া গেছে

Mariana Trench: The deepest place on Earth

The deepest place on Earth is the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean. The Challenger Deep, located within this trench, is known as the deepest  point on Earth.

Some important facts about the Mariana Trench:

• Depth: The depth of the Challenger Deep is about 10,935 meters (36,037 feet) or about 11 kilometers below sea level.

• Location: It is located in the western Pacific Ocean, east of the Philippines and southwest of the island of Guam.

• Comparison: This place is so deep that if you placed Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain, inside it, its peak would be about 2 kilometers below sea level.

• Pressure: The water pressure at this depth is about 1,000 times more than the pressure at sea level.

Some of the animals found in the Mariana Trench that can survive extreme pressure and darkness are:

• Mariana snailfish: The deepest fish, with transparent skin and a cartilaginous skeleton.

• Amphipods: Small, shrimp-like crustaceans that survive by eating bottom debris.

• Sea cucumbers: Found on the bottom and also survive by eating garbage.

• Polychaete worms: Various types of worms live here.

• Xenophyophores: Large single-celled organisms that look like vegetables or vegetables.

• Cusk-eels: These fish, which look like eel, have also been found here.
