মাউন্ট এভারেস্ট পৃথিবীর সর্বোচ্চ শৃঙ্গ এবং প্রকৃতির এক অসাধারণ বিস্ময়। প্রায় ৫ থেকে ৬ কোটি বছর আগে ভারতীয় ও ইউরেশীয় টেকটোনিক প্লেটের সংঘর্ষে হিমালয় পর্বতমালার সৃষ্টি হয়, আর সেই প্রক্রিয়ার ফলেই এভারেস্টের জন্ম। বিস্ময়ের বিষয় হলো, এই পর্বত আজও স্থির নয়; ভূত্বকের ক্রমাগত চাপের কারণে এভারেস্ট প্রতি বছর গড়ে প্রায় ৪–১০ মিলিমিটার পর্যন্ত উঁচু হচ্ছে। ৮,৮৪৮.৮৬ মিটার উচ্চতার এই শৃঙ্গ শুধু পৃথিবীর ছাদই নয়, বরং পৃথিবীর ভেতরের চলমান ভূ-প্রক্রিয়ার জীবন্ত সাক্ষী। তুষারাবৃত শিখর, কঠিন পরিবেশ এবং অবিরাম বৃদ্ধি এভারেস্টকে প্রকৃতির অন্যতম শ্রেষ্ঠ বিস্ময়ে পরিণত করেছে।

Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth, is one of nature’s most spectacular wonders. It was formed around 50–60 million years ago when the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates collided, pushing the Earth’s crust upward and creating the Himalayas. What makes Everest even more fascinating is that it is still growing. Due to the continuous movement of tectonic plates, the mountain rises by roughly 4–10 millimeters every year. Standing at 8,848.86 meters above sea level, Everest is more than just the world’s highest peak—it is a living example of the immense geological forces constantly shaping our planet.
