ম্যানচিনিল (Manchineel) ফলকে ‘মৃত্যু ফল’ (Little Apple of Death) বলা হয় এবং এটি বিশ্বের অন্যতম বিষাক্ত গাছের ফল। ছোট সবুজ আপেলের মতো দেখতে হলেও ফল, পাতা, বাকল ও সাদা দুধের মতো রস—সবই বিষাক্ত।

এর রস ত্বকে লাগলে ভয়াবহ ফোস্কা ও চামড়া ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হতে পারে, চোখে গেলে দৃষ্টিশক্তি সাময়িকভাবে নষ্ট হতে পারে। ফল খেলে গলা ও পেট ফুলে যাওয়া, বমি ও রক্তপাতসহ গুরুতর বিষক্রিয়া এমনকি মৃত্যুও ঘটতে পারে।

পাওয়া যায়: ফ্লোরিডা, বাহামা, ক্যারিবিয়ান এবং মধ্য ও দক্ষিণ আমেরিকার উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলে।

Manchineel is known as the “Little Apple of Death” and is considered one of the world’s most poisonous tree fruits. Although it looks like a small green apple, its fruit, leaves, bark, and milky sap are all highly toxic.

Its sap can cause severe skin blisters and tissue damage, while contact with the eyes may temporarily impair vision. Eating the fruit can cause throat and stomach swelling, vomiting, bleeding, severe poisoning, and even death.
